In the Company of Cheerful Ladies (No 1 Ladies Detective Agency 6)

Lucky for me there is no strict reading order for this series. Mma Ramostwe is charming and ingenious as ever. Mma Makutsi finally gets some excitement and some delightful new characters are introduced. Just hope the bozo who has no4 and 5 has returned them by now.

Alas, for our lovely friend Precious Ramotswe is not as cheerful as usual in this book, but goodness will out as we move slowly through her resourceful approach to life. If you're in need of a gentle and ultimately cheering read, while this slow moving story hasn't quite the magic of the very first book, it's still like catching up with an old friend. Lovely stuff.

Precious does nopt have an easy time of things. Life is like that and that is the beauty of these books, the tone stays upbeat.

A really nice easy read - Precious' exploits are always entertaining and the other characters grow in stature with each new installment of the series. The warmth and colour of McCall Smith's Botswana are written into every page.

Another good book from a great series. This one was a little bit darker than usual, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it ended on a high to make up for that.

Mr McCall Smith get5s away with everything because of his charm, his wit and his style.

Layers of subtle philosophy. Not much happening.

Great continuation from the others in series - you really need to read them from the beginning - highly enjoyable & an easy read

I loved every one of this series and will read any more that he publishes. More Mma Ramotswe please!

These books are just lovely and just really nice, rambling along type stories. I would recommend them to anyone.
