Agreed with a few others here that this one starts out slow, but when it finally winds up, it's hard to put down.
They blew up Mile High Stadium ... oh, wait ... it's already been torn down. Well written and I liked it.
Ah Clancy, my guilty pleasure. Is he a great author? Hell no! That doesn't mean I can't enjoy the drivel he comes out with. Drivel it is, but enjoyable drivel. Not that this is his best one, mind.
Had to skip the Bomb making each time I read it as it just did not hold me. The reast is fantastic and the ending tense
Kind of a slow starter, but gets pretty exciting as you get further into it. This book, along with Debt of Honor and Executive Orders could have done with some fat-trimming.
The movie again don't do justice to the superb storyline of the book. Not all movie can be good like the book although I had wish this is the case.
Prepare to be disappointed by the movie if you read this book, but man, oh, man, was it good. This book was crazy. Tom Clancy delivers again with Nuclear insanity awesomeness.
I agree: too slow, sometimes too complicated, the plot is sometimes weak, with unnecessary links, too heavy on the tech side sometimes. I generally like Clancy, but this wasn't really good. The only good thing was about his hate against the "liberal" national security adviser. I laughed a lot about that.
Reads like an instruction manual on how to put together a nuclear weapon--except not nearly as interesting. It's rather presumptive that anyone would be interested in reading all that detail. I may be wrong, but if you write 900 pages, I reckon you need a plot somewhere...
Boken är klart mkt bättre än filmen, och till min stora förvåning är handlingen mycket annorlunda.
