I had read a lot about Ellis and his work, but finally, I could get one of his boojs and I really loved to read this twisted byography, 'cause is a deep analysis about rich parents, who think that with money and pills for everything, the kids will be happy.
Until they find a way to escape.
Once you start to read this, you can´t stop. Bret Easton Ellis is without a doubt one of the best modern writers. Excellent book!
Had me hooked, funny, self deprecating and scary (the scary is the danger of turning into a suburban bore)- some great insights into our twisted society - really loved this book!
sure, it's candy, but the kind you get in the check out line at whole foods. it's a guilty pleasure akin to those all-natural fruit rollups.
... sucks you straight in - and ties all the other works together and how they effect Ellis's life & family ...
Reminds me a little of Stephen King in his older days. A very good book for those who like a thriller with a twist. This is a book that makes the reader doubt what is real and what is fiction... Mr. Bates is back... :o)
Stephen King writes the best Stephen King books, Easton Ellis take note.
Self-absorbed semi-autobiographical crap loaded with boring gossip and freudian cliche.
