A first hand account of how the Japanese educational system differs from the American system. I was friends with a Japanese exchange student when I read this, and she verified the facts.
Well-written and touching. Feiler tells his story with openness and sincerity. Further, in addition to the writing being very well-done, the content is fascinating and breathtaking. Few authors have approached the issue with the directness that Feiler has. My only complain is that it was just too durn short!
