Few stories are as widely read and as universally cherished by children and adults alike as The Little Prince. Richard Howard's new translation of the beloved classic-published to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's birth-beautifully reflects Saint-Exupéry's unique and gifted style. Howard, an acclaimed poet and one of the preeminent translators of our time, has excelled in bringing the English text as close as possible to the French, in language, style, and most important, spirit. The artwork in this new edition has been restored to match in detail and in color Saint-Exupéry's original artwork. By combining the new translation with restored original art, Harcourt is proud to introduce the definitive English-language edition of The Little Prince.

  • definitely a book you should not judge by the cover. its a simple story and written at a 3rd grade level but it has a lot more insight than books written by lets say..Dan Brown

  • It seems like a book for children, but its by far not like that.
Antoine de Saint-Exupery made it possible to write down everything which is already in the bible in only 89 pages and in addition to that he added some drawings (a lot of writers keep forgetting that reading is a visual thing).
I read a lot of books, but i dont own a lot, i get most of my books from the library, which i think is the best institution ever. I found that book in my bookshelf after i got back from Chicago and i read... (show more)

I read a lot of books, but i dont own a lot, i get most of my books from the library, which i think is the best institution ever. I found that book in my bookshelf after i got back from Chicago and i read it again, even though i read it probably a million times.

    My favorite part is:

...and now here is my secret, a very simple secret; it is only with the heart that one can see rightly, what is essential is invisible to the eye. (show less)

the book was fantastic. i remember having a report regarding this book and every time i read the book again my perspectives changes. at first i thought it was just a children's book because of its illustrations but behind those are different lessons and symbols fitted to what's happening in recent years.a touching story of friendship and love which what really matters the most.

I always think of the rose and the fox.

Good plot, good flow, easy to understand, people can be touched in different points.

For me I never forget the rose and the fox.
