She used to have a lot of good friends... Yep, that's gone too.
And having no friends is going to mean her death as seen in a vision by Aphrodite. Yep, Z's only friend, Aphrodite.
And on top of that, Aphrodite turned back into a human when they saved Z's undead roommate and best friend.

With every page that i read of this series I hate it even more than i already do, the teen speak is getting to me in a major way, and the way Z always use poopy and bullpoopy and crap like that in place of swearing (BUT she managed to have sex) is Peeing me off now.

This book did take an unexpected turn in the last few pages, and it ends differently that I expected it to, making it hard to not grab the next installment immediately (which i will do anyway). (show less)

No, it's a flop!

I really enjoy this series, and since my highschool/teen days i have always like being huddled in a corner with a good supernatural type of book...... (show more)

I really enjoy this series, and since my highschool/teen days i have always like being huddled in a corner with a good supernatural type of book...
The only thing that i dont enjoy about this series is if you are reading any series of books you are generally aware of what has happened previoulsy.. so re-hashing the characters and going over the who is who and their sexual preferance etc at the start of each book is really not necessary, we know this already.. this will then free up more pages to give us more awesome story!
Some characters are developed really well and others there is still not enought info about, the obsession with Stark really doesn't make sense and i think there was not enough time or deveopment with his character in the story before making him into such an obsession with Zoey.
I love the fact that these books are written by a mother daughter team... keep them coming! (show less)

    "if the apocalypse happens, beep me". Okay it is not from this book but it was what i said at the end of this book!!
    I liked it, and thought that it was a great instalment. I hear that many people do not like the way that this book is writen, and i would have to say that i do. Atleast in the way that the narrator is a 16 or something year old girl and guess what, she talks, acts and thinks like it to. I think that some people may find it too much, but after reading some books (ie:... (show more)

Atleast in the way that the narrator is a 16 or something year old girl and guess what, she talks, acts and thinks like it to. I think that some people may find it too much, but after reading some books (ie: confessions of Georgia Nicholsen) i think that she does it to just the right amount. I actually had to do some research on the authors to see if they were in fact that young. I think that they do a great job. I do not like it when books are staring a teenager and they act like an adult, like Dawson's crekk, hello!!!!, no one talks like that, geesh
    Anyways, in this book Zoey had to get all her friends together again to help her out in her troubles with her new life. A new boy shows up, Stark, and Zoey seems a bit interested. An old boy returns, Erik, who is now her teacher and not too sure if he hates or loves her.... drama, drama..... And of cource Heath gets his two cents in there too.
    Neferet is there being the evil bag that she is and now we actually get to see her well thought out plan and the war that she has been trying to implement for a while. We also get to see Zoey's grandmother, who i really love, and she has a great part in the story other than just being the love and support that Zoey always needs. Stevie Ray is there too and in the mix. We get introduced to a few new characrters as we see some of the stuff that was brought up in the past book coem to happen. A great nun appears as well as a new vamp.
    The story ends on a great note, that many people will hate because it is a 'cliffhanger', but i thought that it was great. It allows the conflict to really be established in the next book and it makes it be not a quick fix, which in my opinion is a great thing. If something really huge, and life changing is going to happen, i do not want it solved in the last five pages.
    One last thing that i wanted to mention was that the Raven Mockers in this really creaped me out, which is totally awesome!!! I love the lore and stuff that is in this book and i love the new ideas that i have not seen before
    All in all i think this was a great installment and i am excited to read Hunted, which is the next book. Yeah Cast crew, thanks for the great read! (show less)

    The "adrenaline rush" factor of these books kept me reading, but I still prefer Cassandra Clare's Mortal Instruments. The Casts did improve their writing a little, and obviously couldn't completely change Zoey's character after publishing three books in a series. There were a few buried messages, such as:
    trusting your friends, realising you can't be a force to be reckoned with all by yourself;
    holding onto what you believe;
    not allowing the past to colour your preconceived ideas ... (show more)

    trusting your friends, realising you can't be a force to be reckoned with all by yourself;
    holding onto what you believe;
    not allowing the past to colour your preconceived ideas of others;
    respecting rather than abusing power

    I did like the change in Neferet, because it was obvious that none of the young vamps at the House of Night was a "match" for Zoey in terms of a nemesis. And I did like the Loren twist, particularly as it uncovered so much of the plot and the relationships that would actually last.
    I did not understand the Stark thing at all. It seemed far too convenient.
    The Cherokee legends at last seemed more integral to Zoey's character than a flimsy plot device.
    The red fledgling thing will be interesting.
    I'm still not sure what I think about this series, but at least it's kept me entertained for a few days - though I wouldn't run out and buy my own copies. (show less)

    Red Fledglings

    What will become of them? If a fledgling has to give up their mark in order for one of them to become a vampyre, how many will actually make it that far? Or will the method change?
