This book enlightened me to the struggle of Christians caught in the midst of horrific situations.
Not as good as God's Smuggler but still a worthwhile read.
Everyone should read this book. A powerful testament to one man's choice to be there with those who are in situations that cause governments to issue travel warnings. Brother Andrew is an extraordinary mission is now to encourage the local church in the middle east specifically Lebanon and Israel and Palestinian Territories. He offers thought provoking insight into why it is not as easy as our news sometimes makes it. A must read especially if you also read Elias Chacour's Blood Brothers. We do not hear enough about the Palestinian Church - indeed we are often shocked to hear that it exists. Also recommended is Br Andrew's previous book God's Smuggler about his time smuggling bibles behind the Communist curtain.
Definitely made me rethink my perspective on the Isreal/Palestine conflict.
A good read on the situation in the Middle East from a non-partisan who wanted to learn and offer hope. I met some of the people he talks about while in Israel/Palestine.
Used this for my undergrad thesis. . . it paints a good picture of the struggles (and amazing work) of some Christians in Palestine
This is an insightful book about the church in the Middle East. It really caused me to stop and think like no other book has done recently. It is a great read and should be required reading for all who walk with the Lord Jesus Christ.
A powerful book that demonstrates the struggles, trials, faith, and transformation of Muslims who find Christ in an environment of intolerance and persecution.
