Girls in Trucks

This was an awesome book. It was very raw and real and funny at times. Also a very quick read.
I just finished it. I like parts of it and other parts drove me crazy! The main character drove me crazy with her bad choices when it comes to men!
Interesting. Not my kind of read, but the writing was good enough to keep me in it 'til the end. A pretty sad story, ultimately.
I kept reading in anticipation that the protagonist would eventually do something to make me more inclined to like her. She never did. Whoops.
OK book, but not what I expected. I listened to it (audio book), and the recording was good.
Loved this book. I happened to see it on the library shelf, so I picked it up. So glad I did! It was engaging, well-written, and fresh. I would recommend it as a quick read, but with a little more substance than your average chick-lit novel.
Perhaps not helped by my listening to it on tape, Girls in Trucks is a confusing read about one woman's Southern Childhood to Northern College years, and beyond.
Couch goes back and forth in time, assumes you know some things, foreshadows yet repeats, and most annoying of all uses multiple points of view.
This can be an effective way of telling a story, but Couch does not pull it off.
