  Mavin is the ultimate shape shifter - the best Tepper character ever and shows up later in other of Tepper's books as a side character or a mention of her. Fantastic story!

  I like this one - in parts. I'm utterly bored by book 2! Book 1 is definitely the best. Book 3, not bad. I'd love to know more about the shapeshifters - before they disappear. And I'd love to know what happens at the end of Mavin's 1000 yr sleep. I enjoyed the re-read.
