Then I did something I'd only done twice before in my life. I fainted.' It's all happening, though Zoey Redbird wishes it wasn't. She has her friends back, which is great. But a dark angel has taken over the House of Night, supported by High Priestess Neferet. Not so great. This leaves Zoey hiding out with the (supposedly friendly) red fledglings in Tulsa's prohibition-era tunnels. The not greatness continues. Zoey has some boy-thoughts to distract her, with a chance to make-up with super-hot-ex Eric. But thoughts of the archer that died, semi-permanently, in her arms also keep distracting her. Then he shows up as Neferet's newest minion. Well, hell. Zoey and friends need a plan to put things right, soon, if she's to keep both head and heart intact. (show less)

First let me say - Another great read by P.C and Kristen Cast.

Although, I felt there was a lot of story build-up and everything was kind of rushed at the very end. As much as I appreciate a cliffhanger, I'm annoyed by the lack of information/answers to questions.

I'm also not a huge fan of the multi-partners that Zoey has. Hey! I'm all for a girl weighing her options, but Stark, Eric and Heath? I gotta admit, I was a little bothered when Heath showed up again.

But there are some GREAT things about this novel too. First off the entire series is great, so even if there were things that most people aren't fond of, Its HOUSE OF NIGHT, its still going to be hard to put down.

I love Aphrodite, although I wish she would become a vampyre again. I love Stark, even though he's border line criminal (LOL) and I love that Neferet really was the controlling power behind Kalona.

I look forward to the next book (there is going to be one right) and applaud Kristin and P.C on their fantastic writing abilities. (show less)

This is the lowest rating I have every bestowed upon any book, but Hunted definitely deserved it. I have always had rather minor issues with this series but the story was good enough that I was able to ignore them. In this book, nothing happened to further the characters or the plot, so all the previous annoyances (which are still present in the 5th book) were absolutely glaring in light of the terrible storyline. The writing has always been absolutely atrocious for this series and this book is no exception. P.C. and Kristin Cast need to spend some time around modern teenagers if they are going to try to imitate their speech in the books. The character's words and the way they speak are so outdated in comparison to teenagers at this time, that it all sounds entirely forced and inauthentic. If that was the only issue, it would have been fine, but the story runs in a big circle and the reader is right where they started in the beginning without learning anything new. Only three days pass in the course of this novel. Zoey and her friends left the house of night in the last book. They have to return in this one, they stay one day, and leave again. That's it! The authors wasted 323 pages to do absolutely nothing to further the plot. For those who bought the book, it was an absolute waste of money! It seems to me that this entire book was the authors simply spewing absolute crap to make a quick buck! I am extremely happy that I have always borrowed these books from the library and I recommend that anyone who desires to read this book do the same. For the next book, the authors might want to attempt to use their limited writing abilities to extend the storyline past a few days of Zoey's life. It is ridiculous that only 3 months have passed in her life over the course of 5 books. It is part of my job to read these books, but were that not the case, I would most likely drop this series after this book. (show less)

I have to be completely honest, I was disappointed with this installment of the House of Night series. At the end of Untamed, the reader is left with the sense that Hunted was going to contain Tulsa's biggest fight between good and evil. But 3/4 of the book is nothing but a build-up to a very small version of this giant fight.

I'm not saying that it wasn't well written and interesting to read, but it wasn't anything I believe it should have been. It is my belief that the Cast clan could have cut out most of the content of the book and ended the series with Hunted had they culminated with either Kalona and/or Neferet dying, fleeing forever, etc.

The best part of the book is the Zoey/Stark relationship rebuilding. For some reason, I am much more drawn to Stark's mystery and love for Zoey than Erik's possessiveness and Heath's pure obsession. It seems like theirs is the relationship that will progress with the most maturity.

I really hope that Tempted doesn't let me down. *crosses fingers* (show less)

I know a lot of people were irritated with this book, because of the lack of progression in storyline, but I on the other hand thought it was brilliant. Only a couple days passes in the book, but I thought it was full of thoughtful material. I love, love, love the dynamic between the red fledgelings and normal ones, and I loved being down in the tunnels with them. I love, love, love the dynamic between the red fledgelings and normal ones, and I loved being down in the tunnels with them. I'm not really feeling Eric and Zoe anymore, and I'm seriously tiring of Heath showing up, but I do understand why the writing is taking it in this direction now. She is trying to show the difficulties of being the most powerful fledgeling in history probably and what comes associalted with having so much power. basically everyone wants a piece of you. Now Zoe just needs to grow up and realize Stark is her soulmate. I am totally in love with those two. On another note, I loved, loved, love the use of the elements in this book, the last couple chapers were amazing with the horses and Kalona. Basically I can't wait for the next book, I hope Zoe decided to mature a little bit, but honestly this book has been the best in the series in my honest opinion! (show less)
