  Amazing, intense and serious, less intellectual than his others but more to do with his struggles with hard drugs and their affect on his thought processes.

  McDaniel is one of my favorite all time poets, but this book was terrible. All the charm and the boyish enthusiasm filtered through world-weary eyes is just gone from these pages and replaced with an uneasy mix of slam formalism and attitude and too-common insight and imagery. I'm hugely disappointed.
