As is the case with with all of the *Major Problems* series I've read, this is fantastic. The book covers just about every important topic in the history of medicine and public health in the United States. My students enjoyed the book immensely. The book is a bit expensive: it lists at $65 before shipping on Amazon. But I think the students would agree that it's worth the money---provided you, as an instructor, assign a majority of the book and allow for discussion. As for criticisms, I do wish the book had an index. And a few of the documents were a bit dry. But even the dry ones end up being useful in the context of the whole of the chapter topics. In sum, if you're on the fence, go ahead an use this in your course. - TL (show less)
