I was looking for a good "simple" book that I might refer clients to regarding meditation. I think this book is it. It's an easy read. It's got some simple instructions for different kinds of meditations.
I like that it makes bridges between different kinds of meditation, from Hindu/Buddhist/Christian/Muslim/Native American/African Tribal/New Age/Etc. While I prefer the simplicity of mindfulness meditation and zen, I could better appreciate how some might be drawn to meditations... (show more)
I was looking for a good "simple" book that I might refer clients to regarding meditation. I think this book is it. It's an easy read. It's got some simple instructions for different kinds of meditations.
I like that it makes bridges between different kinds of meditation, from Hindu/Buddhist/Christian/Muslim/Native American/African Tribal/New Age/Etc. While I prefer the simplicity of mindfulness meditation and zen, I could better appreciate how some might be drawn to meditations involving visualizations, involving invocations of God/Gods/Goddess.
Good beginner's introduction. Much better than "Meditations for Dummies" which I also read for the same purpose. (show less)
