I just got a Kindle e-book reader and bought this for it. After several years of trying to do the "read through the Bible in a year" thing in various formats and failing by February each time, I committed to something different this year. I have decided to try to fit in some really good quality Bible reading each day and not worry about the amount I read. I just want to get to know my God better and live closer to Him. I have decided to try to fit in some really good quality Bible reading each day and not worry about the amount I read. I just want to get to know my God better and live closer to Him. I want to soak in the scriptures and really listen to what God is telling me. Then I found this devotional. I already love The Message Remix version and use it for the majority of my Bible reading, so this devotional caught my eye. I didn't need another daily devotional book (except to have one on my Kindle) but this one stood out to me as exactly what I was trying to do this year. So far, it's been great. It's not a lot of reading each day, so I don't have any excuses for not getting it done. With the Bible-in-a-Year programs, I felt like I had to rush through my reading to fit it all in. With this, I can really think it through, read it again, pray about it, and apply it to my own life. I'm very happy I bought this devotional.
(One downfall of the Amazon e-book version though- the index in the back is missing. I can't search for specific subject matter, I just have to read them in order, which is ok. I do have other books to do topical searches with.) (show less)Reading now
