Today's world is all about Now--a fast-moving, high-speed, on-demand lifestyle. But has this pace changed how we study the Bible? Our relationship with God is a journey, a walk where we grow closer to Him each day. So it makes sense that reading and understanding Scripture is a continual experience, not just a moment. This innovative devotional is designed to change how you interact with God's Word. Live Take some time for rest, introspection, or even activity as you discover how to take the Word with you throughout the day. Features include: o An introduction to the lectio divina style of study o A topical index for finding issues that impact your life o Numbered devotions so you can start any day of the year o A time of rest and reflection for every seventh day

I just got a Kindle e-book reader and bought this for it. After several years of trying to do the "read through the Bible in a year" thing in various formats and failing by February each time, I committed to something different this year. I just got a Kindle e-book reader and bought this for it. After several years of trying to do the "read through the Bible in a year" thing in various formats and failing by February each time, I committed to something different this year. I have decided to try to fit in some really good quality Bible reading each day and not worry about the amount I read. I just want to get to know my God better and live closer to Him. I want to soak in the scriptures and really listen to what God is telling me. Then I found this devotional. I already love The Message Remix version and use it for the majority of my Bible reading, so this devotional caught my eye. I didn't need another daily devotional book (except to have one on my Kindle) but this one stood out to me as exactly what I was trying to do this year. So far, it's been great. It's not a lot of reading each day, so I don't have any excuses for not getting it done. With the Bible-in-a-Year programs, I felt like I had to rush through my reading to fit it all in. With this, I can really think it through, read it again, pray about it, and apply it to my own life. I'm very happy I bought this devotional.
(One downfall of the Amazon e-book version though- the index in the back is missing. I can't search for specific subject matter, I just have to read them in order, which is ok. I do have other books to do topical searches with.) (show less)

Fantastic, this book really questions how you think about the bible and allows you, through careful questioning, to see what God is all about and what he is saying to you through his word.
Just buy it, read it and you'll love it....
