  • my first "grown-up" book - I was 8 years old when I stole it from my uncle, climbed into my favorite apple tree and read the entire thing from cover to cover in one afternoon. I still have it.

  • Sci Fi, 1966 (Wiki). I read this around 1968 when I was around 16. I know I read it, but, upon reading through the short story descriptions on Wiki, none of them, other than 'Dark They Were, And Golden-Eyed' (which also occurs in 'A Medicine For Melancholy', which I also read around the same time) look familiar. Based on that-- my lack of remembrance of the stories-- I'd say this collection wasn't quite as good as the similarly-named 'R Is For Rocket'.
