This is a great introduction to the history and culture of the Louisiana creoles told from different perpectives and disciplines. It is one of the few books written by Creoles since it seems that the Louisiana creoles have been marginlized by the dominant african-american history paradigm. I learned a lot about this rich part of my heritage and culture.
