I picked this up for a dollar a couple of years ago thinking I might eventually get to it. Or not. Lately I've been reading all the shorter books in my collection to get them out of the way and this looked like a quick read. That it is. I was more than halfway through it, and looking for the sequels, before I realized that it was a kids' book. (Age 7-15, according to Amazon.) It doesn't really seem like a kid's book, since it deals with some rather [young] adult themes. One of the main characters is a drunk who wants to kill the people who get in his way. This is the first in the series and it is very good- even for a middle school book- and I look forward to the others. (show less)
