Nice idea but struggle to really get going. Doom just doesn't seem powerful (or scary) enough to me to ever be any real threat. Also suffered in comparison to Gaiman's original.

A complete let down by Peter David. Did he even read the previous two installments of the 1602 series?!?!?!? Peter David is a comic legend especially with the Hulk, but here in 1602 he was a total let down.
That is to say the story wasn't so bad if it was it's own entity in its own universe, but it is not.
It feels like Peter whipped this one off without ever reading 1602 and 1602: Brave New World. Both of which were excellent. This book gets a barely passing grade of a 6 out of 10.Already read
