A characteristically comprehensive contribution to Nietzsche scholarship. Nehamas and Schact added very robust essays to this collection and Bernd Magnus' digest of Nietzsche's works and their themes is a very useful lamp for the novice who finds him or herself in an inky night, unable to parse the difference between Dionysus and Apollo or to fathom the relevance of "The Pale Criminal" to the moral psychology of, for example, Dostoevsky's Raskolnikov.
