Strangely terrible. If this had been the first book I read I would never have touched anything else she had ever written.

Picked this one up to read on vacation as a leisurely book. It's fine if you keep in mind that it's not necessarily in the Anne Rice style. I will note that despite all the sobbing, crying, tearing up, and other wise overly emotive characters (the book is about grief and music and how they are intertwined for two main characters) It was a fine read for a holiday. Somehow, the highs and lows and all the emotions displayed by the characters (who can at times be hard to relate to) do parallel... (show more)

I will note that despite all the sobbing, crying, tearing up, and other wise overly emotive characters (the book is about grief and music and how they are intertwined for two main characters) It was a fine read for a holiday. Somehow, the highs and lows and all the emotions displayed by the characters (who can at times be hard to relate to) do parallel the music made and played by the Violin. If you're in the mood for a quick (not too serious) read, you could do worse. (show less)
