I love this book. A bit esoteric, but even if you haven't read the root works, Eco's satire can stand on it's own.
Misreadings
Satirical essays in which Eco pokes fun at the oversophisticated, the overacademic, and the overintellectual and makes penetrating comments about our modern mass culture and the elitist avant-garde. “A scintillating collection of writings” (Los Angeles Times). Translated by William Weaver. A Helen and Kurt Wolff Book

Eco does parody! Among the gems is a twist on "Lolita," in which the narrator becomes obsessed with a granny with "whitely lascivious locks." Another story imagines rejection letters to such classics as Homer's "The Odyssey" and Dante's "The Divine Comedy." And...The Bible. Reason? Too many authors.
Love this book!
