Has anyone had trouble getting into this book?
I love Jodi Picoult, she is definitely my favorite author, but I cannot get into this novel. Is the whole book this way, or does it get better?

Hey Sarah. I love her too. I've read Second Glance and it didn't let me down! Keep reading!
Leah Mabry about 1 year agoI agree, this one has been a lot harder to get into than all of her other ones, I hope it gets better. :o)
Facebook User about 1 year agoStarting out I thought this book to be a little scattered but before long....OMG!!!!
Julie Moyers Adkins about 1 year agoI must admit, this was the first Jodi Picoult novel I ever read, and it was not my favourite. It took me awhile before I read another and was completely blown away by her.
Facebook User about 1 year agoI also agree, it took me waaaayyyy too long to get into the book. However at the end it was okay... definately not one of my favorites though.
Kara Hansell about 1 year agoYou know, Jodi Picoult is my favorite author right now, but this book just ...wasn't good. It took more than half the book to get even somewhat interesting...and by then I just didn't care. It is the only one of her books that I wouldn't recommend.
Jennifer Sargeant about 1 year agoi also had trouble getting into this book.... i still thought it was good but ... i duno, i felt like.. from the other gazillion jodi picoult books i've read this one seems more mature? i don't know... i think they all appeal to a variety of people but this one just seemed different. not my favourite, but still a good read once you do get in to it.
Sophie Beinke about 1 year agoI am a Jodi Picoult fan but this is defintiely not her best Doesn't change
Narelle Cullen-Nichols about 1 year agoThis is one of my favourite Jodi books, though I did find it difficult keeping up with the characters initially. Well worth keeping at it and savouring the story. :)
Facebook User about 1 year agoI felt a bit confused at the beginning as well. I had trouble keeping the characters straight, but as the book went on things fell into place.
Facebook User about 1 year agoGreat story!
This book was hard to get into... all the different stories that didn't seem to connect. But once they did, it was amazing. Loved it in the end.
Beth Wallace about 1 year agoAdmittedly, it is hard to get into this one. But it is also so incredibly worth it. This is an amazing book with its astonishing surprise at the end. A must read Picoult!! Perserve all ye who read.
Ivana Fogarty about 1 year agoYeah, I had some trouble initially. But I found that by Part 2 I was hooked. I really like this book, so keep going :)
Katie Irwin 9 months agoI know this was posted a year ago, but for anyone still needing the info, I agree that this was very hard to get into at first. I love Piccoult, but this has been my least favorite book of hers so far. It is worth the reading, though. It does get better about half way in, and things tie together as they always do in her books.
Facebook User 5 months agoI had the same problem with this book! I ended up puting it down and trying it again later and I realized it's actually a good book. I think my problem was opening my mind to the subject matter.
Facebook User 5 months agoYes! I did have trouble getting into it, but the last few chapters were pretty good. keep reading.
Facebook User 4 months agoI started reading it, couldn't seem to get into it, so opted for "plain truth" by her,, and am now reading "salem falls", and still havn't gone back to that book. It is at the bottom of my Jodie Picoult book pile....
Facebook User 4 months agostick w/ it, it gets better. it is hard to get into at first though.
Facebook User 4 months agoI also had a hard time getting into this one.. and have read several of her other books that grab you right away. Hang in there, I didn't get hooked until about half way, but it is intriguing and thought provoking from that point on. I really had to make myself stay with it.
