I am enjoying the Courtney series a lot, but this one was not my favorite.

We meet Jan PAulus again, and we get to know Dirk, Sean's son by Katrina, the wife who killed herself. Dirk soon makes it clear that his will is law, and he will kill to have things his way if he has to.
Sean has another child out of wedlock, with a woman he met on his flight from johannesburg, and the woman's husband soon becomes his best friend.
In the end, this is a very well written novel, but i am not a fan of war or any works related to war, thus this not being one of my favorites. (show less)Already read

I knew I would not be disappointed with Wilbur Smith. This book was wonderful, I felt like I was right there with Sean fighting beside him. And I wanted to kick him at some of the stupid mistakes he made. The story grabbed me from the very beginning and I couldn't put the book down. Highly recommend anything by this exceptional author.
