jonathon is a one-in-a-million bird who is bored with the meaningless materialism and conformity, seized by a passion for flight, he pushes himself, learning everything he can about flying, until finally his unwillingness to conform results in his expulsion from his flock. its basically my bible, and its gospel is you have to be true to yourself, you have to keep working on love and there is no heaven but a better world found through perfection of heart and knowledge. No, it's a flop!

Original yes. But, I couldn't help but disagree with about everything that was said in it. I didn't like it.

This book was read to us in the 6th grade and my student teacher taught us hw it is so much more than a story about a bird. It is about people and life and spirituality.

I read this book in the 6th grade and thought it was about a bird. I read it in the 10th grade and discovered it was about perseverence. I picked it up again in my early 20's and realized it was about life. And throughout the many years since, I continue to discover truths within the pages of this book.
