What Are You Centered On?
Sometimes the most important truths are the easiest to forget. It’s time to get back to the starting point of the Christian life—the cross of Christ. Jesus’ work on your behalf must be the central motivation for your life and faith—the main thing.
“Never move on,” says C.J. Mahaney, who shows you how to center every day around the cross of Calvary and how to escape the pitfalls of legalism, condemnation, and feelings-driven faith.
Tap into the gospel’s power and see how a cross centered focus can transform your life today! (show less)

This great little book is probably a collection of C.J.'s sermons on the subject. It contains his usual wit and stories to open the door for and illustrate truth. He covers topics like: how easy it is to forget, why the cross should define our lives, how it breaks the power of legalism and condemnation, living by faith instead of our fleeting emotions, and some practical advice to keep it at the center of daily living.

It is short (under 100 pages), accessible (not heady or filled with theological terms) & practical. It makes a great give-away to busy people.
I understand the limitations of this series of books- they can't say all there is to say on the topic. But they try to get the main point, distill it and apply it. I really like some of the other books too (but choose not to read a few others like Gothard & Robertson). This is one of the best books in the series, along with Alcorn's The Treasure Principle & Piper's The Dangerous Duty of Delight. (show less)Already read

This was my first time reading C.J. Mahaney. This book is now one of my favorites! It's one I could read over and over again, benefitting every time. What a treasure! It clearly and simply reminds us of the power of the Gospel in salvation and every day living. I was especially thankful for his practical tips to keep every day centered around the cross and plan to implement them in my own life:

It's all about the Gospel! What a great little book to remind us to always keep that perspective! (show less)Already read
