  • read this book for one of my governmental graduate classes. I like what Freire says: "What I have sought always is to live the tension, the contradiction, between authority and freedom so as to maintain respect for both." I try (tried) to establish this in my classroom. It is not an easy balance to keep in a classroom filled with adolescents, but one well worth fighting for.
