i think it's safe to say that i haven't been blown away by a poet in a long time. this one knocked me right off my feet.

I first read Amichai about 10 years ago. Now I turn to him again and again for comfort when the world begins to feel overwhelmingly depraved. He tells me that I am right: the world is depraved, but it is also beautiful.
