This is such a cute book. Rebecca is the girl everyone loves: she faces adversity with optimism and it seems there's nothing she can't do. Everyone loves her and it's not surprising why with her big eyes, bright smile, and cheery attitude. This is a feel good story and great to read aloud with your kids.

  • This was fun to read! I enjoyed finding bits of Anne, Emily, Jane, Sara, and other L.M. Montgomery heroines sprinkled throughout. I am glad to have saved this book till now, instead of reading it during my Montgomery obsession.

Better than Anne of Green Gables?

What do you think? This story is very similar except that the hero is very different. After all, who can compare with Alan Ladd, except perhaps Austen's "Mr. Knightley"? Surely, Anne's Gilbert cannot compare!
