A good read. The kid grows up plot is common, but this kid is uncommonly observant. The only reason I did not give it more stars was that the author stretched credulity just a bit.

The audio play on BBC Radio 4 was so gripping I just had to read the book. Wonderful story & a very touching tale. In the book there's at least one character that we can see a part of ourselves in.
