Wilbur smith is fast becoming my all time favorite author.
In The Sunbird, we meet Ben, an archeologist and Louren, his best friend. They uncover a lost city and things start getting interesting.
With every day that passes a new discovery is made in the "City of the Moon", a City that was destroyed almost 2000 years ago.
They uncover vast treasures.

I found this one as easy to read as any of Wilbur's other novels, and this one was almost as interesting as the first of the Courtney novels, HOWEVER, it cannot be compared since it is a whole different sort of novel.
This was my first novel by Smith that did not revolve mostly around mining and i have to admit that i am not in the least disappointed.
I cannot wait to continue my journey with Wilbur Smith at my side, only 24 more Smith books to get through. (show less)Already read

This book came highly recommended to me. While the plot was interesting (South African archaeology team discovers a lost Carthaginian city on their own continent), I began to see the twist fairly early on ... and the action dragged a wee bit at times. I enjoyed the archaeological bent of the tale, and would probably give another work by Smith a try. I just wasn't crazy about this one.
