Josh McDowell's timeless examination of the true nature of Christ and his impact on our lives is one of the best-selling Christian books ever (more than eight million copies in print worldwide!). Written by a former skeptic of Christianity, it is a hard-hitting book for those who doubt Jesus' deity and his purpose.

This book is such a great resource to show the truth of God's Word and the testimony of Believers. I am amazed at how Josh even firmly nails down the proof of the resurrection. I would reccomend it to anyone that is waiting in the slough of dispond, doubting and unsure of the truth.Another great thing is that it never pushes one denomination but just as an argument of faith. Faith in the God of the Bible is reasoned and real, it is not some clevely devised fable.I really would reccomend it to anyone who is new to the faith or anyone who may not know what Christians believe or who is searching for the truth. I bleive I will use this most in the future, because ofr the sheer diversity of material. It is a summary of "How We Got the Bible," "The Case for Christ" and even some main pooints in "Mere Christianity." May God's glory be maginified by this book! (show less)

Unbelievably shoddy. When I was in my teens, this book convinced me that Christianity was absolutely true. Now that I'm older and wiser, I'm astounded at the author's willingness to jump to unwarranted conclusions. (show less)

  • Recommended for new believers and those seeking a reason to believe that Christianity is authentic and believable. Does a good job at explaining the reliability of the Bible, as well as why Jesus Christ matters and what his claims mean if he is who he says he is.

  • This book is the easiest book I have read that has helped me understand who Jesus Christ was. McDowell sheds light on the claims that Jesus made about Himself and the reader is left to do some critical thinking about Jesus. This book is the easiest book I have read that has helped me understand who Jesus Christ was. McDowell sheds light on the claims that Jesus made about Himself and the reader is left to do some critical thinking about Jesus. Was Jesus a liar who knowingly deceived people and pretended to be the Son of God and faked so many "healings" of people. Or maybe Jesus was a crazy lunatic who really thought he was God and went to his death rather than going to a therapist. Or maybe Jesus is who He claimed to be, the God and Savior and Messiah that we all need for eternal life from all of our wrong doings (sins). This book helps a person see how much Jesus loved us to allow Himself to be tortured and killed for us. Amazing book! (show less)
