A YAQUI WAY OF KNOWLEDGE

The teachings of don Juan is the story of a remarkable journey: the first awesome steps on the road to becoming a "man of knowledge" -- the road that continues with A Separate Reality and Journey to Ixtlan.

"For me there is only the traveling on paths that have heart, on any path that may have heart. There I travel, and the only worthwhile challenge is to traverse its full length. And there I travel, looking, looking, breathlessly." -- Don Juan

Ally..possesive,violent,unpredictable,dispassionate. amazing parallels perform sorcery in this experience.the overt and covert requirements of seeking a path.being fluid.... this book changed my life in a bizarre manner...nothing more can be attempted than to establish the beginning and the direction of any infinitly long road.perfection can here be obtained by the individual student only in the subjective sense that he communicates everything he has been able to see....
this is not really liturature..more like anthropological -bird(crow)like -subjectivism. i cannot explain this book w/ words..it more of a passion . (show less)

The first part of the book was interesting but the second half was a chore to read. Though the trips on mescalito, dartura, and humito were interesting the real gems of the book were few and far between. (show less)

started me on the path, though the lingo is a little less accessible than... let's say radiohead haha... but seriously, this guy knows what's up. this is a guide to becoming a Warrior Traveler... and it's elaborated and revisited in all the other books by Castaneda. at the time that I read this book, it really stretched my imagination

Well, if you are into Tim Leary, Terrence Mckenna, Ram Dass, and other psychonauts this may be your bag of tricks! If you are not into hallucinogenic drugs may not be so exciting :)
