The Underdark. A place of brooding darkness, where no shadows exist, and where Drizzt Do'Urden does not wish to go. The noble dark elf must return there, though, must go back to find his friends in the gnome city of Blingdenstone, and on to Menzoberranzan, the city of drow. Only then can Drizzt discern what perils might reach out from that dark place to threaten his friends in Mithril Hall.

Another 5/5 from R.A. Salvatore, the Icewindale books might have been a bit on the average side at points but so far the - Legacy of the Drow - books have been phenomenal. The latest I've read in the series "Starless Night" is fantastic. Another 5/5 from R.A. Salvatore, the Icewindale books might have been a bit on the average side at points but so far the - Legacy of the Drow - books have been phenomenal. The latest I've read in the series "Starless Night" is fantastic. Mithril Hall is recovering from the Drow raid lead by Drizzt's long lost sister Vierna and he decides that the only way he is going to find out the Drow's true intentions about Mithril Hall, himself and his companions is to go back to the dreaded Menzobarrenzan and face his own kind. Drizzt with the help of one of his greatest friends all end up in the Drow city alone and realize that only by banding together will they ever see the light of day. The action is amazing, the pace is frantic and the characters continue to grow on the reader. This book is an easy 5/5 and I'm looking forward to "Siege of Darkness" where this conflict between Mithril Hall, Drizzt and his dreaded Drow cousins comes to a head. (show less)

  • Quite superb. The continuing adventures of the drow elf, Drizzt, proceed under the masterful pen of Salvatore in this, the 8th book of the series. Giving much greater depth to the emerging anti-heroes and real personalities, as well as dividing the Companions of the Hall and examining their own dealings with grief individually. All this spun around a swashbuckling adventure in and around the fascinating Underworld city of Menzoberranzan. Captivating.
