This book is strong on motivation to follow one's dreams, but weak on Scripture. In a fashion roughly similar to Pilgrim's Progress, Wilkinson devotes part 1 of his work to weaving an allegory of the character "Ordinary." Ordinary breaks from the dull routine and daringly follows a big dream. Ordinary breaks from the dull routine and daringly follows a big dream. Along the way Ordinary leaves his comfort zone, meets bullies, travels through the wasteland, finds refreshment in sanctuary, survives a valley of giants, then thrives in the promised land of embracing the big dream. In the second half of his work Wilkinson explains the allegory, applying each experience described by Ordinary to the lives of believers in Christ.
I do believe God can use this book to inspire many people who are following a Biblical vision. It will not help however, in determining whether or not the big dream originates with God or with someone else.
This title isn't bad, it could just be much, much better with the additional of some clear Biblical teaching and principles.
For someone who has already established that his dream has been given by God and knows what that dream is, by all means read this book. If anyone is still trying to determine his dream, I'd encourage him to look elsewhere. (show less)

The story of Ordinary who dared to pursue his dream. On his journey he meets some "friends" called Nobody, Familiar, Ordinary etc. He also travelled over certain "countires" on his way to the dreamland. He realizes in the end that his dream have a root, and more than that needs to be pursued no matter what. An amazing realization is that it's not just his willpower or decision that makes him succeed.

Wilkinson says:"What a sad day in that nation's history! To be within sight of their Bog Dream, only to let the opinion of a few bullies turn the whole nation away.' In contrast to this Ordinary is challenge to give his dream back. Irony? Your dream is meant to be more than itself or you. It is to realize what can be done through you.
A good book that challenges your thought, desires and dreams. Can only be understood if you had to give up or back what you received to receive more.
It also makes you aware of what your dreams and desires are. Are there good and bad dreams? you decide! Do you dream and where does it come from? (show less)
