I especially like the segments where the author is explaining his craft. The segments of background material for the series was D-R-Y. I ended up skimming most of it. If you love the Belgariad and Mallorean Series, then you should read (skim) it at least once. (show less)

A strange book this. If you are a big fan of the Mallorean and the Belgariad then there is some nice background here. Also interesting if you are considering becoming a fantasy author yourself or an author in any genre really. Not a traditional fantasy novel though so not for everyone

The humour shows in this book. Behind the scenes, so to speak and with parts left out of the books, I loved reading it... except the Tolnedran rules. Apparently it was as bad for him to write as it is for us to read though, so...
