childhood memories
These are the stories that made me hide in the racks at department stores as a child.I had lost my collection(some were ruined, others actually lost) over the years.Luckily for me, my mother got me the entire collection in one hardcover book for christmas last year.I'm almost done "the Magician's nephew" and can't wait to re-read what were my favorite stories when I was young!

I LOVE these books! C.S Lewis is, to me, one of the greatest writers ever and i love all of his books.. i cant wait for the second movie to come out!
Babette Alberts about 1 year agoI LOVE the Chronicles. I read them all growing up and recently read the entire series in two days. They really were awesome.
I can't stand the movies, and I can't understand why any true Narnia fan would enjoy them. Not flamin', just sayin'. They ruined the entire storyline, and the only reason I will definitely be watching the latest one (Prince Caspian) is for the inevitable awesome battle scene. Don't get me wrong, they're great movies in themself, but they mess up the whole book. And the worst of it is, so many people will be satisfied with the movie and never see past the cover of these amazing books.
Um, oops...haha, sorry for getting off topic!
Nathan Erickson about 1 year agoI understand Nathan. I read the series to my boys 7 different times. I think the draw is the fact that it is seen through the eyes of a 3rd grader. It is hard sell to get adults to read that genre but we can only try. Maybe it will be easier when they have children that age. What do you think?

Diana Elrod-Sarnecki about 1 year agoI am glad someone else LOVED these as much as I did. I hope you have seen Prince Caspian by now. If so, what did you think? I saw it twice and can't wait for the DVD to add to my collection.
I also grew up with these books. I grew up in the UK till I was 12 and we had a series on tv all about Narnia and the different stories and I loved them! TLTWTW is the only one I have read fully but when they became popular again, I purchased the full series book and plan on reading it (when I get that far). I personally love the movies, but I grew up with the British version of the movie about 15 years ago or so, so this is really a remake for me.
Facebook-användare about 1 year agoThere was a series of movies by Disney on the Chronicles when I was very young. They followed the book to the letter! And yet, surprise, surprise! They were GREAT movies! I just wish people like Andrew Adamson and Peter Jackson would learn that there's no need to change a great book on such a basic level in order to make a box office hit! It really miffs fanboys like me! *sigh*
Nathan Erickson about 1 year agoWhen I was little we read the lion the witch and the wardrobe at school -and I was off, it kick started my passionate love of literature which has never left me
Facebook-användare about 1 year agoConsidering they were written by a crustly academic their scope and imagination are second to none and only really surpassed by Tolkien.
I beyond love these books. Narnia is a staple at my house. The movies were quite upsetting. I catch myself getting excited about a certain section in one of the books, wanting to see on screen and then I relize oh they've already made the movies and botched that scene :(. Prince Caspian left out my favourite part...Lucy and Susan with Aslan
Facebook-användare 10 months agoMy dad read the lion, the witch and the wardrobe to my sisters and I as children. My sisters don't remember but I do. I loved that book. I read Prince Caspian a few years ago but haven't read any of the others. Would love to get them all though.
