A cute sequel--it's gratifying to see what happens to Bridget after the first book. Still contains many of Bridget's crazy little moments, still no... (show more)
Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason
Lurching from the cappuccino bars of Notting Hill to the blissed-out shores of Thailand, everyone's favorite Singleton Bridget Jones begins her search for The Truth in spite of pathetically unevolved men, insane dating theories, and Smug Married advice. She experiences a zeitgeist-esque Spiritual Epiphany somewhere between the pages of How to Find the Love You Want Without Seeking It (can self-help books really help self?), protective custody, and a lightly chilled Chardonnay.

This was refreshing as it felt like I was reading about a whole new adventure with Bridget. I felt some parts were over exaggerated but it still made me laugh out loud at moments and crack wide smiles. I feel it ended rather suddenly but still satisfyingly. At point you know things could have been avoided simply and some things were really obvious yet impossible for Bridget to see which was annoying at times as they seemed intended to be suspenseful. Overall an enjoyable, amusing sequel. (show less)

Not quite as sharply witty as its predecessor, and Bridget starts emerging as so self-destructive in her bad decisions that the book gets a little frustrating to read. Still, the character remains so endearing that I'm willing stumble through her trials and tribulations with her.
