I kept saying to myself as I was listening to this book, "That is exactly what it is like for me".

I also realized from listening to this book, that while it is important to speak your lover's love language, it important to speak in all of the love languages to them at least a little bit.

This book was very easy to understand. I am sure that I will read it again in the future.

It has given me some hope that perhaps we can bring more love back into nearly decade long marriage.

When I have been trying the techniques listed in the book for awhile, I will have a better sense of whether or not it really works but it certainly does make a lot of sense to me.

I am hopeful it is true. Most of the Bible references in the book were tolerable as they were simply quoting wise quotes.

Although the 6 month experiment may be hard for those of us who don't use religion as a foundation for our actions.

I would definitely recommend this book to any couple. (show less)

I was disappointed with this book. I heard about this book and was intrigued by the concept of different ways to show and receive love. But I could have simply read the table of contents to get as much understanding as I got from reading it. However, considering the concepts is worthwhile. I do think that some couples could really benefit from this book. I think we too often love others on the basis of what we would like to receive ourselves. But I could have simply read the table of contents to get as much understanding as I got from reading it. However, considering the concepts is worthwhile. I do think that some couples could really benefit from this book. I think we too often love others on the basis of what we would like to receive ourselves. Real love has to actively investigate how the other person needs to be loved. Also, understanding what our own love language (or languages) is (or are) can challenge us to love others in new ways. I was challenged to love my wife using her love language and to communicate to her how she can speak my love language more fluently. And no, I am not going to tell you what our love languages are...
