This is knock-out classic horror about the loneliest town off Nevada's Interstate 50-and the scariest.

Oh....My...Gosh, this is the most horrifying of Stephen King books I have read. It has everything. Religious cults, vengeful deities, blood, violence, horrific torture, possession, sacrifice, and heroism. I probably missed something, cause this book has everything.
I don't want to give anything away, but this book has to do with miners who dug up something they shouldn't have, and the entity takes over a state trooper, who starts kidnapping people from the highways to sacrifice to his god... (show more)

I don't want to give anything away, but this book has to do with miners who dug up something they shouldn't have, and the entity takes over a state trooper, who starts kidnapping people from the highways to sacrifice to his god. This entity has control over all the wildlife, and you get to witness his control over coyotes, crows, and scorpions...among other things. We follow a family with a religious little boy as they team up with a couple of strangers and struggle to survive and escape this demented demon.
It's a really good read. I recommend reading it as long as you do not have a weak stomach, and if you enjoy stories about good vs evil and God vs Satan. (show less)

Desperation has a mine, and something evil hides in there. It causes people to go coocoo, and there it gets interesting.
When Tak takes over the body of the local town cop, he starts collecting bodies, and live hosts.
And then they escape.
This is one of the most amazing books that i have read ever, by King or any other author.
It gave me goosebumps, not only because it was sick, and gross at times, but because it plays on your emotions.

For the first time... He has a connection to God for the first time that i can remember in any of his books, and I would have thought that it might put me off, but in a strange way this gave an interesting angle to the book, and it gives it deeper meaning.Well done Mr king, I love this book, and i believe i am not the only one.
