Super fun. Super good. I've been told about this book since I was a wee lad, and a good friend of mine has told me that in his wanderings this is one of the few he's kept with him. I believed him enough to buy a copy and tear through it. I'm really glad I did.
I know this is obvious, but the thing is freaking The Odyssey but with bunnies. As a teacher, I would love to teach it to 8th graders, alongside what I know about Hero With a Thousand Faces. It works just too well.

The bits of invented language are amazing, as is the entire Lupine heritage revealed in their oral poetry. I seriously cannot believe it took me so long to read this one.
I remember my father handing me his copy one day when I was young and I tried but couldn't get into it. Perhaps I needed to read theory to understand how great it truly is? Dunno. I would give this book to any 13 year old. And to any precocious 10 year old. It's too much. (show less)

Up front a simple entertaining novel. Though in truth there are any number of potentially complex social, religious, and political messages embedded thought the tale. Read it for fun, or many times and find some new facet.
