To tell you the truth, I expected the same thing. It just didn't seem possible that he could be dead. He was so powerful and good. Its hard to wrap my brain around.
I wish Rowling didn't get so kill-happy with her books. I like 'em alive.
Julie Ochaba about 1 year agoI felt the same too. But after finished the deadly hollows, I feel that it has to be like this.
Anonymous User about 1 year agoExactly!!the way in which his death is written doesn't sound right, i mean come on he is the most powerful wizard and then boom died in such a weird way. That seriously gave me a shock!!like sirus black's death did in HP Oder of the Phonix!!because these 2 are one of my favorite characters.
Facebook-användare about 1 year agoI didn't believe it at first, like Harry didn't. I was reading it and I was like "no.. he's not really dead, Snape and Dumbledore MUST have come up with a plan to make it look like he had died, when really he just "vanished" or something to hide out in the Order Headquarters... " lol.
But then, the funeral came and I just bawled my eyes out. I was really sad that he had died, but yet at the same time, he never really did die.. not in spirit anyways. I mean as just a picutre in the Headmaster's Office, he helped Snape help Harry, Ron and Hermione out in their trek to find the horcruxes, and he kind of helped Snape watch over them as well, so that they could all remain as safe as they possibly could.
And when Harry 'died' in the last book, Dumbledore was there to help guide him through the ordeal and help him go back to being alive.
Truly amazing series that I can not wait to share with my own children in the future (once I have them that is, lol)

Stephanie Rose Craigen about 1 year agoHa yes, it was really hummm, strange to find he ends that way. Specially because we had to wait some time to be able to find out the rest of the story.
Facebook-användare about 1 year agoIt seems to make sence though, after reading the last book.
Agreed!
Facebook-användare about 1 year agothe death of dumbledore and other characters we've gotten to know is integral to the story. Without the threat of death and loss, the fight against Riddle would be empty and meaningless. The deaths make the struggle all the more difficult and painful for the characters (and readers) and makes their characters deal with something that could make or break them.
Anonymous User about 1 year agoWas I surprised that Dumbledore died? Yes! Was I sad? Yes! It was I shock to discover that Rowling kills of the greatest force of good in her story just as things are getting serious. I like many others waited, hoping that maybe he will appear again, that it was all a joke or part of some elaborate plan.
I am currently reading the Deathly Hollows and could find that my expectations are true but until then R.I.P. Dumbledore.
I must add that although the books are getting darker I find them to be far more interesting as they have actual stories and unexpected turns as opposed to the usual happy endings that the previous books had.
Kailash Maharaj about 1 year agoWell done Ms. Rowling.
i wasnt surprised that Dumbledore left the story, but i was surprised that he died, i thought h would just disappear and reappear later sort of; but it had to happen because harry had to lose his whole support system of true mentors (lupin, dumbledore, black, moody) in order to set up the last book where its ultimately JUST Harry against JUST Voldemort....what an awesome sequence of evnts....my favorite book series ever :)
Barby Nicasio about 1 year agoafter finishing that book i was somwat hoping that he would com back in the next book but that didnt happen. it makes the series better though sorta. i mean, harry has to kill tom riddle by himself and that makes it more interesting. but the only person i REALLY wish hadnt of died was sirius. i mean he was like one of the only good things that happend to harry and it sucks that he died.
Amber Scouton 4 months agoIt does seem to just happen. I kinda thought the Rowling just got tired of him. I loved Dumbledore though! I can't believe it happened but then again if he didn't then the 7th book might not have worked out as well as it did.
