I was doing some optimizations and accidentally optimized one of the Hatchlings routines a little too much. Thus, stale eggs were removed much faster than new eggs were being added for a while. That is why the egg count is so low at the moment.

Everything should be back to normal within a few hours (and hopefully the game should run much better do to the optimizations). While you're waiting, now would be a great time to bump up your shell count using The Warehouse.
