Bruce Nolan, a television reporter in Buffalo, N.Y., is discontented with almost everything in life despite his popularity and the love of his girlfriend Grace . At the end of the worst day of his life, Bruce angrily ridicules and rages against God and God responds. God appears in human form and, endowing Bruce with divine powers, challenges Bruce to take on the big job to see if he can do it any better.

Jim Carey, in his wacky self, plays Bruce Nolan a reporter in a tv network who is absolutely frustrated with his career being mowed over by Evin Baxter, played by Steve Carell. Dejected he chooses to openly blame God for all his troubles and God answers back. Morgan Freeman is God dressed in white. He calls up Bruce and says he s tired and gives his job to Bruce and goes off on a holiday. What ensues is the absolutely brilliant scenes where Bruce exercises his power all around to get his job back and win back his girlfriend, played by Jennifer Aniston. What he comes to know is that the job description also contains responsibilities to answer prayers? Great creative screenplay ensures hilarious scenes that Jim Carrey is so expert in. Really good timepass!! (show less)

Bruce Almighty is original, but that's about as far as my praise would go. Carrey needs to stop trying to be funny, and just BE funny. Aniston can't handle the weird script, but Freeman does a good job as a sarcastic God. Original, but Carrey has to try too hard to deliver the jokes, so they end up not working at all. Too bad. Well.. its only my second time, watching a Jim Carrey movie, first one being, "Me, Myself and Irene".
And I have all reasons to call it one of the B-E-A-UTIFUL movies i've ever seen. Just like the usual Jim Carrey's movies i've heard of, even this one is a happy, feel-good entertainer with a predictable happy ending.
But the narration holds the MIRACLE.... A real, refreshing MIRACLE...!!

No words about Jim. He's something from outer space i guess. Bubbly and magical.

Morgan Freeman- Oh Boy, does he ever need a mentioning. I'm simply moved by his eloquence. Off the record, can anyone name a character portrayed by this good old man, that doesn't worth a spectacle...??

Jeniffer Aniston.. she's cute and gorgeous. Limited chances to perform, yet she sizzles in the movie.

And you have Steve Carell too. Hope that seals off the whole gist.

God is ,or is not...?? You have your answers here, well served.

    Bottomline: ASTOUNDING...!! (show less)
