Filmmaking in its most perfect form. The Return of the King gives the perfect story to Peter Jackson's incredible potential for production, culminating with a perfect infusion of drama, character, and catharsis. The actors nail there roles yet again, though Elijah Wood is still annoying (why do you have the ring, again?). Sam Astin is virtually perfect (Best Supporting Actor rob), and Andy Serkis basically sells the film. Viggo plays possibly the sexiest character to cross the screen since...... (show more)

The actors nail there roles yet again, though Elijah Wood is still annoying (why do you have the ring, again?). Sam Astin is virtually perfect (Best Supporting Actor rob), and Andy Serkis basically sells the film. Viggo plays possibly the sexiest character to cross the screen since...well, forever. The production design and cinematography work in perfect harmony, and the more hectic writing fits into the episodic, three-part journey better than in the second film. The resolution, in the end, caps the originality with an icing so sweet, we almost don't mind the three (or, was it four?) endings. A must-watch for....anyone. (show less)
