About Me: My name is Hero and I'm 2 years old. When I was 6 months old someone dropped me off with the trash and for another 6 months I was a pound puppy in Angra do Heroismo in the Azores. Eventually my family adopted me in December 2007. I was just skin and bones then, but now I'm a big manly beast complete with rippling muscles and chest hair.

I'm a lover at heart, but having spent serious time in doggy jail I'm not afraid to have a bit of a tussle with dogs twice my size. I love to travel and could spend all day outside tracking and chasing birds. My best friend is a Jack Russell Terrier named Tagpi. Sometimes he can be a real jerk, but we still have grand times together.

I love water, even at my age. My biggest claim to fame, though, is writing the 'letter of the month' to a magazine and winning my human a pair of running shoes. They emailed me to say they didn't have my size. Shocking I call it!

Yup her Topnot is blond like yours. It's just blond from the sun bleaching. We Field spaniels are naturally good trackers, hunters and retrievers. Even thought they may not be as fast as a Field-Bred Springer, we almost always get the birds those guys miss. Best noses in the biz!! Don't worry about the gun shy thing so much, if your mom ever did want to make a hunter out of you, gun shyness is the EASIEST thing to cure. Almost any pro can fix that. It's juts matter of making your love of the bird overcome the fear of the noise. Noise = Birds.. OMG I LOVE NOISE!!! My daddy was gunshy, not anymore :) And yes we sure do look great covered in mud, wish my mom would agree with me on that....

Hi Hero, I think your new haircut looks great. You kept your topnot which I love. My mom won't let me grow mine cause it's not allowed in the shows, but when I was a young puppy I had one my mom used to call my party hat. And my sister who is brown like you has one JUST like yours. My mom gave up trying to get groomers to groom a field spaniel without cutting everything off. The best she can describe it to them is "groom it like an irish Setter NOT a springer.... ;) I probably don't look much like a super model at the moment. I've been at "Hunt Camp" for 2 months now while my mom's been away. Burrs and sun bleaching and twigs oh galore :) My mom's going to have one heck of a time trying to make me look pretty again hee hee.

Hi Hero! How is your Summer so far? My mom's been gone away for 6 months, but I get to see her again in 2 weeks. I'm pretty excited. We're going to go camping and ride in a canoe for a week. My mom says I have to bring the "brat" Ember... I guess she can ride in the back....
