Answers to the most commonly-asked questions about using Dogbook.

Choose between a Park and Group?

  • A Park and a Group are exactly the same, except that a Park has a map.
  • Parks are great for getting together with all kinds of dogs around your neighborhood!
  • Groups are great for connecting with dogs from all over the world who have things in common — for example, dogs of the same breed, or dogs that like the same kinds of treats.

Be an "Admin" for a Park or Group?

  • When you create a Park or Group, you can select yourself or one of your dogs to be the administrator.
  • A park's administrator has more control over the park than regular members: you can edit the park's description, edit the Wall, invite other members to become administrators, and so on.
  • You can only be the administrator of a Park or Group if you created it, or if you are selected by another administrator.
  • To add another administrator to your Park or Group, go to the list of members and click "Select as an admin" beside the user's name.

Find a Group?

  • Go to the profile of a person or pet in the group, and click the link to the Group underneath their profile picture.

Find a Park?

  • You can search for Parks. You can also go to the profile of a person or pet in the Park, and click the link to the Park underneath their profile picture.

Join a Group or a Park?

  • Once you've found a Group or Park you want to join, click the "Join..." link at the top right. People and dogs can join — you decide! (Some people prefer to keep their pet front-and-centre.)

Leave a Group or a Park?

  • Click the "Leave..." link at the top right. People and dogs can leave — you can remove yourself but your pet can stay, and vice-versa.

Tag a photo or video?

  1. Go to your pet's profile and scroll down to the "Photos" or "Videos" box.
  2. Click the "See All" link.
  3. Click the thumbnail of the item you want to tag, and then click "Tag this..." below the item.
  4. Note: In order to tag an item, you must either be Friends with or a Family member of the pet.

Add or change a profile picture?

  1. Go to your pet's profile.
  2. Click on the "Change Profile Photo" link.
  3. Choose a photo to pick as your pet's profile photo.

Upload photos and videos?

  1. Go to your pet's profile and scroll down to the "Photos" or "Videos" box.
  2. Click on "Add Photo" or "Add Video" and follow the instructions.

Request friendship with other dogs?

  1. Go to the pet's profile.
  2. Underneath the pet's profile, use the "Add as a friend" dropdown box to choose you or one of your dogs, and click "Add".

Tip: If you're having trouble finding a pet's profile, try going to the person's Facebook profile and scrolling down to the Dogbook box.

Accept friendship requests?

  • Go to your home page and accept any friendship requests listed there.

Remove friends?

  1. Go to your pet's profile. Click "See All" on their friends box.
  2. Click "Remove Friend" for the pet or user you wish to end friendship with.

Remove family members?

  • Go to your pet's profile.
  • Click "remove" next to the name of the family member you wish to remove from your pet's profile.
  • Note: If you are the last family member of your pet and you remove yourself, the pet's profile will be deleted.

Delete a profile?

  • To delete a pet's profile, you need to remove all family members from the profile. To remove a family member from a profile, go to the profile page, and click "Remove" beside the name of the family member.
