  • Top Cow Productions Inc issued a press release entitled 'WITCHBLADE VOL. 1 AND THE DARKNESS VOL. 1 COMPENDIUMS ARE BACK ' against Top Cow Productions Inc 11 months ago

Redesigned reprints of these comprehensive volumes return to stores

LOS ANGELES, Calif., December 9, 2008 – Top Cow Productions, Inc. announced today that due to popular demand, redesigned and rebranded hardcover copies of the Witchblade Compendium Vol. 1 and The Darkness Compendium Vol. 1 are scheduled to be in comic shops on Dec. 17. Softcover editions will be available Dec. 24.

The Witchblade Compendium Vol. 1 collects Witchblade issues #1-50 and a complete cover gallery. The Darkness Compendium Vol. 1 collects The Darkness vol. 1 Preview and issues #½-40, Tales of The Darkness issues #½-4, Witchblade/The Darkness issue #½, The Darkness vol. 2 issue #1, The Darkness: Wanted Dead one-shot and a complete cover gallery. Both books are an impressive 1,280 pages, and both hardcover editions feature bonus posters on the reverse side of the slipcovers.

The books were first printed in 2006 and immediately sold out. Demand for more copies was high, which prompted Top Cow to reprint the books after a complete rebranding of the company's entire trade paperback line was complete.

"It's taken us a bit longer to get the Compendium's back into print, but the redesigned look was well worth the wait," said Top Cow Publisher Filip Sablik. "Plus, the price cannot be beat. Fifty comics for 60 bucks! Just another way Top Cow is giving you more than the competition."

Copies of the compendiums can be ordered through local comic shops using the following Diamond item numbers:

    Witchblade Compendium Vol. 1 Hardcover ($99.99) - AUG072054 Witchblade Compendium Vol. 1 Softcover ($59.99) - MAY061795 The Darkness Compendium Vol. 1 Hardcover ($99.99) - SEP072027 The Darkness Compendium Vol. 1 Softcover ($59.99) - JUL061747

  • Top Cow Productions Inc issued a press release entitled 'TOP COW PLEDGES NOT TO RAISE THE PRICE ON ITS REGULAR-SIZED BOOKS IN 2009 ' against Top Cow Productions Inc 11 months ago

While other publishers increase the cover price of some of their books to $3.99, Top Cow will remain at $2.99

LOS ANGELES, Calif., December 5, 2008 – Top Cow Productions, Inc. announced today it will maintain a $2.99 price point for its regular-sized comic books throughout 2009, despite the recent move of other publishers to raise the cost of some of their books to $3.99.

"We looked around and saw cover prices creeping up and up all around us," noticed Top Cow Publisher Filip Sablik. "It seems wrong to raise your prices on customers during these tough economic times. Once we knew we were going to hold the line on our prices, it made sense to call attention to it. Hopefully, it will encourage some fans to try our titles."

And despite the price freeze, Top Cow will not compromise the quality of its regular-sized books to cut overhead costs.

"Our content pages will remain the same as it is now and in fact we're adding more and more added-value pages, including interviews, back-matter articles and preview art," said Sablik. "We want to be the value and quality leader in the industry."

The $2.99 price point does not apply to oversized books, exclusive variant covers and special editions.

  • Top Cow Productions Inc issued a press release entitled 'TOP COW PARTNERS WITH GRAPHIC IMAGE SKATEBOARDS FOR NEW WITCHBLADE AND DARKNESS DECKS' against Top Cow Productions Inc about 1 year ago

Do your ollies and kickflips in style with these eye-catching Top Cow ’boards

LOS ANGELES, Calif., October 8, 2008 – Top Cow Productions, Inc. and Graphic Image Skateboards are proud to announce new Witchblade and Darkness skateboards are available for purchase starting November 1, 2008. Pre-orders are now being accepted.

These skateboards are available as deck only, complete with trucks and wheels, and are made from seven plies of hard rock maple and feature high-resolution graphics that are nothing short of spectacular. A very limited number of skateboards are available signed by Top Cow Productions founder and CEO Marc Silvestri, who co-created Witchblade and The Darkness.

"The partnership with Top Cow is simply surreal to me," marveled Andrew Brousseau, founder of Graphic Image Skateboards. "When Image and Top Cow were founded back in 1992, it really revitalized for me the excitement that was once found in visiting the local comic book store. And so in partnering up with Top Cow today to make skateboards, I really feel it's an incredible opportunity to revitalize the excitement that was once found in buying a new skateboard deck."

"We're absolutely thrilled by this partnership," exclaimed Top Cow President Matt Hawkins. "Graphic Image Skateboards produce fine, quality decks and we're more than happy to lend our characters to their line."

Graphic Image Skateboards also has a Savage Dragon deck available, based on the character created by Erik Larsen and published by Image Central, which, along with Todd McFarlane Productions and Top Cow, make up Image Comics.

  • Top Cow Productions Inc issued a press release entitled 'Top Cow Announces Plans to Exhibit at Baltimore Comic-Con' against Top Cow Productions Inc about 1 year ago

LOS ANGELES, Calif., September 3, 2008 – Top Cow Productions Inc. announced today it will be exhibiting at the 2008 Baltimore Comic-Con, a comics and pop culture extravaganza to be held at the Baltimore Convention Center in Baltimore, Maryland from September 27 – 28. The publisher will use the event to mark the launch of Dragon Prince, a new limited series co-created by Ron Marz (Witchblade) and Jeff Johnson (Amazing Spider-Man, Way of the Rat), written by Marz and drawn by Lee Moder (First Born: Aftermath, Stars and S.T.R.I.P.E.).

Dragon Prince is an all-ages story about a young boy who discovers he is not only descended from dragons but is also being hunted by an evil race of powerful Magi. A special Baltimore Comic-Con variant cover for issue #1, drawn by superstar cover artist David Finch (New Avengers, World War Hulk), will be available exclusively at the show. Marz, Moder and Finch will be at the convention and they will be signing copies of Dragon Prince #1 all weekend so fans should check the Top Cow booth for a schedule of their appearances.

In addition, Top Cow will host scorching-hot, rising star Kenneth Rocafort (Madame Mirage), who will attend to mark the debut of Cyblade #1, for which he has provided a variant cover. Cyblade #1 by Joshua Hale Fialkov (Pilot Season: Alibi) and Rick Mays (New Avengers) marks the launch of a solo series based on the young, psionic blade-wielding member of Cyberforce and follows her adventures before joining the team. The series is a result of a fan-voted poll in Top Cow's 2007 Pilot Season initiative, in which readers voted on which one-shot they'd like to see made into its own series.

Rocafort will also be on hand to sign copies of the Madame Mirage Vol. 1 trade paperback, which is available for the first time in September and collects all six issues that he and writer Paul Dini (Detective Comics) worked on. Madame Mirage is the tale of a gorgeous, tech-savvy femme fatale who targets an underground organization of super-villains for termination, but as the title suggests, all is not what it seems. Rocafort also penciled one of 2008's Pilot Season books, The Core, and will work on an as-yet-unannounced project for Marvel Comics.

An exclusive Baltimore Comic-Con cover for Broken Trinity #2 by Top Cow founder and superstar artist Marc Silvestri will also be available at the show. Broken Trinity is a three-part mini-series with three tie-in books in which at least one established character dies and new characters are introduced to the Top Cow Universe with permanent ramifications.

Top Cow will also present a panel on Saturday afternoon (check schedule at the show for time and location), where attendees can hear some exciting announcements about upcoming publishing plans, including new projects from top creators. Top Cow Publisher Filip Sablik, VP Editorial Rob Levin, Ron Marz, Lee Moder and Kenneth Rocafort will sit on the panel for the presentation and will also be available to answer any questions.

At the Top Cow booth, Sablik and Levin will be conducting portfolio reviews and accepting leave-behind samples of artwork from individuals who are interested in entering Top Cow's 2008 Talent Search, in which two talented up-and-comers will be invited to study under Marc Silvestri in the publisher's Los Angeles-based studio. See the schedule at the booth for designated times.

Top Cow is nominated for two Harvey Awards, one of the comic industry's oldest and most respected honors. The ceremony will be held at the Baltimore Comic-Con during the evening of September 27. Top Cow is nominated for Best American Edition of Foreign Material (Witchblade Takeru Manga) and Best Inker (Kevin Nowlan, Witchblade).

As a bonus, there will be free preview books, prizes and other giveaways available at the Top Cow booth at Baltimore Comic-Con, so fans should be sure to stop by when they attend the show. Tickets for the event are available at http://www.baltimorecomiccon.com.
