Description: FANAMBY, a Malagasy NGO was founded in 1997 in reaction to the obvious urgent need to preserve biodiversity hotspots in Madagascar and to engage in poverty reduction.

Fanamby sets out to turn forest ecosystems that are not yet included in the current protected areas network into protected areas. Three major sites are: Daraina (North-East), Anjozorobe (midlands) and Central Menabe (South-West).
