The More Good Foundation is committed to helping faithful Mormons share their stories with the world, and then helping the world find those stories quickly and easily. As a people we have positive, powerful stories to tell--and that "telling" is important. We don't believe in hiding our candle under a bushel, and the Internet provides a way for us to collectively hold our candles up, providing light to all and helping them see what that light helps us to see.
You Can Make a Difference - Become a member of the Foundation If you would like to be a part of our effort, we invite you to be engaged in a good cause; share your time, talents, and efforts with others, and you can make a difference in the world. It doesn't take much time to join with hundreds of others who are investing an hour here or there to make the Web a better place. How Did the Foundation Get Its Name? The name More Good Foundation has its roots in a statement made by Joseph Smith in a letter to the editor of the Times and Seasons newspaper, in which he explained that the literal translation of the word Mormon means "more good." (See Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, pages 299-300.) This concept was elaborated on by Gordon B. Hinckley in an October 1990 address entitled "Mormon Should Mean 'More Good'". How is the Foundation Funded? While the Foundation is fully supportive of the Church and its mission, it is not directed by or funded through the Church; no Church funds are used for the Foundation. Our funds come through the good graces of individual donors who are interested in seeing us fulfill our goals and make a positive difference with LDS information.
