Positions:
  1. Molecular manufacturing (MM) will radically transform the world, and the people, of the early 21st century.
  2. Whether that transformation will be peaceful and beneficial or horrendously destructive is unknown.
  3. Although MM carries great promise, unwise or malicious use could seriously threaten the survival of the human race.
  4. Molecular manufacturing is likely to be developed sooner than most people expect.
  5. Our vision is a world in which this technology is widely used for productive and beneficial purposes, and where dangerous uses are limited.

Description:
The Center for Responsible Nanotechnology (CRN) is a non-profit research and advocacy organization concerned with the major societal and environmental implications of advanced nanotechnology. CRN promotes public awareness and education, and the development of effective recommendations to maximize benefits and reduce dangers. We engage individuals and groups to better understand the implications of molecular manufacturing and to focus on the real risks and benefits of the technology. Our goal is the creation and implementation of wise, comprehensive, and balanced plans for global management of this transformative technology. CRN is a program of World Care, an international 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.
